A Real Potato Treat
Sunday, September 27th, 2009
When I was a kid my mother used a potato ricer
frequently for a quick treat. I remember that adding butter over a freshly riced half of a russet potato was YUM. I still to this day boil a few potatoes then rice’em as I need’em. The potato peel stays in the ricer and the rest gets squeezed into the bowl. If your ricing a half dozen potatoes you can fry up the skins for a tasty treat too!
The concept works great for yams. Nothing to it. Same deal. Add butter, salt and pepper.
This kitchen utensil has been around for years. The best pricing are those that have been around for years too. New ricers can be kinda pricey.
But still, rather than break out the mixer, then all of the cleanup— save some electricity get green and rice your way to a tasty treat.
The kids will love it.
